The Love of the Father Thicker than the Blood of the Cross and stronger than the Death of the Cross

Thank you very much. Please open the second chapter of The Key To Happiness. What is the title? ‘The love of the Father thicker than the blood of the cross and stronger than the death of the cross.’ What love can be thicker than the blood of the cross of Jesus and stronger than the death of the cross of Jesus? Isn’t it too much exaggeration? A book called ‘Early Writings’ has a statement like this, “Do you think that the Father yielded up his dearly beloved Son without a struggle?” This questions is being asked to you. Do you think that the Father yielded up his dearly beloved Son without a struggle? When He had to give away his only Son to be killed mercilessly by people, do you think that our Father yielded up or gave up His only begotten Son without a struggle at all. No, no! It was even a struggle with the God of heaven, our Father, whether to let guilty man perish or to give up His only begotten Son who knew no sin to die for them. Due to imperfection of the language of the pigmies, our Father’s heart could be expressed only like this.
If a son or daughter dies, the parents tumble on the ground, crying so bitterly. Some parents even lose their sanity or become crazy not because they gave birth to them, but because they raised them for so many years. They love them so much. Their love for them becomes thicker and stronger as days go by. If a child who is twelve years old or fifteen years old die, the parents cannot suppress, cannot overcome their sorrow. Some parents even die together with their children when they die.
Parents lose their sanity but what about our Father? Let’s think about Him. He was living with His Son Jesus from eternal days ago. He was walking and living together with His only Son since eternal days ago. They could not live away from each other. They were living and walking together so how could our Father give up His only begotten Son to be killed so mercilessly in our stead. People love their children so much but they never think about the heart of our Father who gave up His only Son for our sins. They only say, “Ah, is that right? Is that true?” Please remember that our Father’s love is incomparably greater and stronger than the love of parents toward their children.
The huge pit of sin which we ourselves dug must be filled by somebody’s blood, by the blood of the only Son of God. The Son of God must die in our stead. Our Father loves His lovely children so much. He could not let them be destroyed. He could not let them die forever that’s why He had to save them. However, them, He must let Jesus die in their stead in order to save them. As He looked at Jesus, His only Son, He was so pure and innocent. He had never experienced sin, he did not even know what sin was. He could not let Jesus die for them. However, to save the doomed sinful children, He must kill Jesus. In order to save Jesus, He must give up the other children. So our Father could not make a decision. Our Father’s struggle was unbearable, inexpressible. He was writhing in agony by Himself. In the heavenly sanctuary, our Father was writhing in desperate agony because He could not give up neither of His children.
When our Father was writhing in desperate agony confining Himself in the heavenly sanctuary, letting nobody to see Him, the angels of heaven could not sing. Jesus, who knew the heart of His Father best understood the struggle and torture of His Father. That’s why He could not keep standing outside the sanctuary with the angels, so He entered His Father’s sanctuary. When He was writhing in agony by Himself, with His heart ripped apart, Jesus entreated the Father saying, “Father, please don’t writhe in agony anymore. Why don’t you let me go down and die for them, I am going to die for them?” As our Father looked at Jesus the Son, as our Father looked at Jesus’ face repeatedly, He is so innocent. He already knew that if He would only come down to this earth, He would be torn to pieces by wicked people who are controlled by devils. As He thought about that, it was totally unimaginable. Then He said, “No, please give Me more time to think,” and He let Jesus go out. After He let Him go out, He continued to writhe in agony by Himself. Our Father’s agony on the heavenly sanctuary cannot be compared with the agony of Jesus on Mt. Gethsemane. Jesus on Mt. Gethsemane was writhing in agony only for the sins of the world. His sweat became blood falling on the ground. But when our Father was writhing in agony in the heavenly sanctuary, He was pressed down by double burdens. One for the sins of the world, of His children and the other one is for the death of His only Son. ******His agony cannot be compared with the agony of Jesus of two thousand years ago on Mt. Gethsemane. We must behold our Father writhing in agony by Himself which took place before the event of Gethsemane. When Jesus was crying bitterly on the cross, He at least has the Father to answer to His cry. But when our Father was crying in the heavenly sanctuary there was nobody to answer to Him. When Jesus was crying so bitterly, angels came down to comfort him but when our Father was crying in the heavenly sanctuary by Himself, there was nobody to help Him. If our Father had been a physical being like Jesus, not only His blood vessels and arteries but His heart might have been ruptured.
Because Jesus knew the agony of His Father, He entered to the sanctuary again, imploring Him, “Father, please let Me go down. Please don’t writhe in desperate agony by Yourself. Please let Me go down and die for them. Please don’t stay like that.” The Father looks at His innocent Son again. He was the Son who knew no sin, who never experienced sin, who did not even know what sin was. It was totally unimaginable for the Father to let Him be killed, to let Him die such a cruel death because He knew what kind of death He must die. It was totally unimaginable. He could not let Him die such a cruel death. So He said, “No, no. I can never let you go down and die for them. No, I can never do that.” So He let Him go out again. Jesus came out into the midst of angels. However, the lapse of time could not solve the problem, the agony of the Father. The more time passed by the greater struggle it was for the Father.
The third time, Jesus made a firm resolution to go down and die for them because He could no longer merely watch the ever deepening agony and unceasing struggle of His Father. In order to save these earthly children, the dirty children of this world, God and Jesus suffered an unbearable and inexpressible agony. We must know this fact. Because of the death of Jesus and the sacrifice of our Father, we could receive eternal life, we could be saved. When Jesus entered the Father’s sanctuary the third time, our Father knew that He came with a strong resolution to get permission from Him. Our Father also loved His earthly doomed children so He eventually made a final decision to kill His only Son, to let Him die such a cruel death for us. When Jesus came out the third time, He proclaimed to all the angels of heaven that there was made a plan, a way for the earthly children to be saved.
“I then saw the lovely Jesus ... approach the exceeding bright light which enshrouded the Father... The anxiety of the angels seemed to be intense while Jesus was communing with His Father. Three times He was shut in by the glorious light about the Father, and the third time He came from the Father, we could see His person ... He then made known to the angelic choir that a way of escape had been made for the lost man.”
Our Father’s agony could not be expressed by words. No human, no angel, nobody could understand the agony of our Father and of Jesus. Is there anybody in the Christian world today who appreciates our Father’s agony? They only regard our Father as a dreadful being who is pleased to judge, condemn, and punish people. They don’t like nor love Him. They hate Him. They fear Him and are afraid of Him. Is there anybody who knows our Father’s love? They always cling to Jesus and say that this message of God’s love is a heresy. They even persecute people who received our Daddy’s love and cast them out from their churches.
Until this message of eternal life could be given you, there had been lots of conflicts and oppositions. As I first started spreading this message of eternal life, pastors and leaders of God’s people in the world opposed this message. They interfered with this message. They kept saying that the message of Jesus’ love is the only truth and the message of God’s love is a heresy. So I asked them “Why don’t you read John 3:16 the other way, the opposite way?” If God had not loved the world and had not given His only begotten Son, who could have known Jesus? Because the Father loves us so much He has given us His only begotten Son and we came to know Jesus. Then to whom should we be more thankful, to Jesus or to the Father who sent Jesus? Those people who do not even know the deep heart of our Father claim to save the world. How can anybody be saved by them?
There was a severe famine in old times. The famine lasted even for seven years. People sold everything to buy foods. When the situation became increasingly severe, people had to pay lots of money to buy just a bowl of rice. They had to pay even millions of dollars just to buy a sack of rice. At the end, there was no more food, nothing to eat because they ate up all the plants and grass in the mountain. All the mountains became completely covered with only dirt. There was nothing to eat. In one family, everybody was just lying down ready to die. As they became extremely hungry, they just said, “Let’s just die together.” When they were just lying down waiting for death, all of a sudden, the door was opened. The father barely lifted up his head and looked at the door. When everybody in the town was dying, the door of his house was opened and a good looking boy was coming in with a huge sack of rice on his back and with a big bunch of money in his hand. So the father of this family became so surprised and amazed. He then stood up and asked him, “What happened? Who are you?” That one sack of rice on his back was not merely a rice, it was life to the family. Even the richest person could not buy any rice in that situation, but this boy came with a huge sock of rice, so the father asked him, “Who are you?” The boy said, “My father told me to give this to you.” To whom should this family be more thankful, to the boy or to the boy’s Father who sent the rice through him?
When our Father had to give up His only begotten Son to let Him die for us, it was an unbearable and inexpressible agony. Jesus said that our Father could not even let a little sparrow fall to the ground and die. He was living with Jesus since eternal days ago, He was His only Son. Then how could He send His only Son to die for us. How can people regard His sacrifice as nothing? How can they think only about Jesus’ love? That’s why Jesus Himself declared to people that in order for you to be saved, you must know God’s love first and then my love. In John 17:3. He said that eternal life is to know God’s love and then Jesus’ love. These are the steps that lead us to heaven. Jesus said, “God loves the world so much.” Nobody fully understands what this ‘so much’ mean. Even if we learn about this love for eternity in heaven, we will not be able to understand it fully.
People in the world say that Jesus two thousand years ago came down to this earth and He was crucified on the cross while God was just sitting on the heavenly throne by Himself. Is there anyone in the world who teaches people that God came down and died together with His son on the cross? He was embracing His Son on the cross when He was killed. They all teach that only Jesus came. They never think about the Father who sent out Jesus. I hope you put away all the false teachings of the world and listen carefully with a clean heart.
Please read John 16:32. [Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and you will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.]
Jesus said, “You will leave Me alone. You will just go away and leave Me alone, but I will not be alone for the Father is with Me.” Before His crucifixion, He said to his disciples, “When I will be mocked by people, when I will be contempt and scorn, you all will be ashamed and you will run away saying, “Ah! It’s a shame to follow him.” He continued, “Although you will flee away for your sake, My Father who sent Me will be with Me. He will follow Me. He will walk with Me hand in hand all the way to Calvary.”
Even the worldly loveless fathers, they never let their children go by themselves when they go through any dangerous places. They carry them on their backs or under their arms. Then how can our Father whose life is love send His only Son to this earth to let Him die by Himself? How could He just remain in the heavenly throne by Himself? Even devils cannot do that. When our Father made a final decision to let Jesus die in our instead, after going through incomparable greater agony than Jesus on Mt. Gethsemane, He said to His Son, “Yes, My Son, let’s go down together, let’s die together.” Do you now believe this? This was testified by the Holy Sprit. Jesus also testified, “Even if you all flee away for the sake of your lives, My Father who came down with Me will be with Me.” Do you now believe that our Father was not in the heavenly throne, but that He came down with Him, and walked with Him all the way to Calvary? I hope you believe this.
As I think about our Father walking together with His Son, my heart seems to break apart. As I think of His sacrifice walking with His Son, I cannot suppress my sorrow. When Jesus was writhing in agony on Mt. Gethsemane, for the sin of His people in this world, wicked people came and arrested Him. When He was taken to the court, He was dragged by people from court to court all through the night. The more He was taken to different courts, the more heavily He was condemned. The Jews were so furious like crazy dogs against Jesus. They were about to tear Him apart. Because Roman soldiers protected Him, Jesus could leave until He was crucified. They were afraid of judging Him on the day time for fear of people’s demonstration, that’s why they judged Him all through the night.
Even in this world, when a person is condemned and is to be executed, he is given a nice table, nice foods. Everything good is given him before his execution. Even in this world a condemned criminal is given the best foods before he is executed but Jesus was given not a bit of food before His execution. He starved and fainted here and there even fourteen times. So people of today made fourteen stops on the way to Calvary. They forced Jesus to carry a heavy cross. Because he starved and did not drink any water for so many hours, He had no strength at all. He couldn’t carry the cross. All His disciples used to profess that they would be loyal and faithful to Him until death, but as people mocked Jesus, they all fled away. They said to themselves, “Ah! Our Teacher Jesus is nothing. He is not different from us. He has no strength, no power. We better not follow Him anymore.” So they all fled away for the sake of their lives. Then Roman soldiers came to Jesus and began to whip Him. Do you know the whip of Roman soldiers? At the end of every string was hanging sharp bones or metals. So as they hit the criminals, the criminals could not help crying and fainting. Everytime they whipped the criminals, their skin and flesh were split apart. So as Jesus fell to the ground being unable to carry the cross, they whipped Him right there. Jesus had no strength at all. As He was hit by them repeatedly, He began to shed blood more and more. Then He became so powerless and helpless. Eventually He fainted and they let somebody else carry the cross for Him. Then they dragged Jesus all the way to Calvary. When Jesus was being dragged by them, let us not only behold Jesus but let us also behold the Father who was following the Son.
Do you truly believe that our Father was following Jesus when He was dragged by wicked people there? Will you accept what I say here? Why do you readily accept what those people teach and so hardly accept what I teach you here about our Father’s sacrifice and agony? When His only Son was being dragged and beaten up by them so cruelly, how could our Father sit on the heavenly throne by Himself? He truly came down and walked with Him. Our Father’s heart was ripped apart when His Son was being dragged by them. He sent away His only Son to let Him die in their instead but instead of accepting Him with gratitude, they were whipping Him so cruelly. When Mary, His mother saw Jesus being beaten up by them so cruelly, she fainted and people carried her away. How can Mary’s heart be compared with the hearth of our Father who was watching and following Him all the way to Calvary? When His only Son was being beaten up by them so cruelly, how could His heart be expressed?
When I was leaving down South, in the village, there was a person who had two sons. One of them was crazy and his father pitied him so much. One day, when his brother was working with his crazy brother, he got very angry that he began to beat up his crazy brother. When his normal son was beating up his crazy brother, he quickly ran to him and hugged his crazy son. He burst into bitter cry saying, “Why do you have to beat him my son? Although he was a crazy son, his father had such a great pity on him.
When Jesus was being dragged by them with no strength at all and shedding blood, our Father was clinging to Him crying so bitterly saying, “My Son, My Son, this is the only way to save our children. Please be patient a little bit more.” Our Father was pouring bitter tears hugging his Son being dragged by them. As Jesus fainted, they just dragged Him as a dead dog. Our Father was crying so bitterly seeing all these.
In Psalms, the Bible says that furious dogs killed Him. Yes, they were just like dogs. Those so-called religious leaders and clergymen were killing Jesus so mercilessly. They were nailing the hands of Jesus who had devoted Himself to only good works all His lifetime. They were nailing on the cross such holy hands. After nailing Him on the cross, they erected the cross. Because of His body weight, the holes on His hands ripped more. Because He starved and had no strength at all, He could not stay alive on the cross for long. He only cried out to the Father, “Father, Father, why have You forsaken me?” Then He gave up His ghost and He died. After His death, all of a sudden, the whole area became so dark.
People today preach that when Jesus died, the earth was as black as dark night but they do not know what the darkness was. It was our Daddy’s presence. Because He was naked and killed mercilessly by them, our Father covered His nakedness and shame with darkness. He also covered His glory with darkness so that those people, for whom Jesus died, might not die due to His glory. Now Jesus was dead. Because He was dead, He could not feel any pain anymore. He was completely freed from any pain but let us think about the Father who has hugging His dead Son on the cross, pouring bitter tears by Himself. Last time also we learned that our Father is also emotional Father who laughs, cries, and sings for joy. He is the Father of emotion. How bitterly He must have cried. He cried hugging the dead Son on the cross, pouring bitter tears. All the heavenly angels came down but they could not sing songs. They all burst into crying, looking at the Father hugging His dead Son on the cross. The sun in the sky could not behold such a sorrowful scene that the sun refused to give light to the world. So the whole world became so dark. All things in nature refused to see such a gloomy scene. Only if we know this immense and inexpressible love of the Father, we can obey, follow, and love Him with a sincere true love.
How can this message of God’s love be a heresy? How can there be any fallacy in this love? Please don’t ever be fooled by those false teachers. Let us consider what sacrifice our Father suffered. After accepting our Father’s love, if you go back home, the leaders in your churches will say, “How come you attended the meeting of Park Myung Ho? Now, you have to tell all the church members that it is a heresy.” If you refuse, they will cast you out. They will throw you away from their churches. When you are cast out and kicked away by them, I hope you only remember our Father. I hope you behold our Father crying so bitterly hugging His dead Son on the cross. Then, you will be able to forgive them. You will be able to overcome them with love. You will be able to forgive them with a sincere heart. Think of our Father’s love who was crying so bitterly hugging His dead Son on the cross.
Oh! The agony of the Father greater than that of the Son! The struggle of the Father more intense than that of the Son! The love of the Father thicker than the blood of the cross! The love of the Father stronger than the death of the cross! The love of the Father broader and wider than the whole universe! The love of the Father that neither the world nor sinners can ever fully comprehend! The love of the Father that neither righteous people nor angels can ever know! The love of the Father that is unknown to both heaven and earth! The love that [no one knows except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal the Father.] Where are the Elijahs today who will go forth with this love?
During the Korean War, North Korea came down and attacked South Korea with tanks of Russia. They came down with the Russians tanks while all the people of South Korean government, all the governors were only absorbed in fighting with one another for positions. So all the young people in South Korea were dragged to the battle. Everytime they went to the battle, they were all killed by them. One day, a policeman came to a certain house because there was a young man, in a family. The policeman brought a letter saying, “Because you are a Korean citizen, you must devote yourself for the defense of this country.” Because the son was growing, the parents already knew that their son would be dragged to the army to be killed in the battle. Although they knew that the son would be dragged and be killed to the army someday, when that very day came, they all burst into crying. All the neighbors came and cried. At that time, the boys who were dragged into the army went with red stripes on their foreheads. They were carried to the battle field on a train.
In old times, women did not look at men face to face. However, when those young boys were to be taken to the battle field, everybody in the village came out and hugged them bursting into crying because they knew that everybody who went to the battle would come out as ashes.
So when this son was taken and dragged into the army, the parents tumbled on the ground pouring bitter tears because they knew their son would never be able to come back alive. Although everybody in the village came trying to comfort the parents, they could not be comforted at all. So when the son came back as an ash in a box, the parents burst into crying again. So the agony of these parents was even greater than the pain of the son who was killed in the battle field. When the son was killed in the battle field, he was completely freed from pain but what about the parents who were crying so bitterly hugging the ash box? Even though they did not see their son being killed in the battle field they burst into crying so bitterly. What about our Father? Our Father was watching His only Son being crucified so cruelly on the cross. As our Father was walking with Him hand in hand, His heart was completely ripped apart. He was writhing in desperate agony, hugging the dead body of His Son on the Cross.
So to know this love of our Father is eternal life. The second condition is to know and accept Jesus’ love. As I told you just now, if you accept our Daddy’s love and go back home with joy of His love, you will see the same history being repeated. Then, you must behold our Father hugging His dead Son on the cross shedding bitter tears and you will be able to forgive them.
After singing song no. 12, may anyone pray?
